We have entered the market with our novel IoT-based ambient assisted living solution that uses the data which is available in every household: the power and water consumption. Our AI analyzes the energy consumption data of elderly people and notifies caregivers in case of anomalies or emergencies. In this way, the home itself becomes a smart guardian for the residents and assistance is initiated when it is really needed.

Founder’s Associate (m/f/x) – Munich or Kassel

We are offering a novel IoT-based ambient assisted living solution: Our AI analyzes the energy consumption data of elderly people’s homes and notifies caregivers in case of anomalies or emergencies. In this way, the home itself becomes a smart guardian for the residents and assistance is initiated when it is really needed.
Your Role:
As a Founder’s Associate you will have the opportunity to shape the strategy and operations of Veli, with a focus on our Seed fundraising round. You’ll gain a detailed overview of our operations, learn from the best and brightest minds in the industry, and have a real impact on the success of the company. You work closely together with our COO Max and get a comprehensive insight into major areas of our startup and take over strategic projects as well as operational tasks:
- Fundraising and Financials: Take a major part in our Seed fundraising by developing and managing budgets and financial forecasts, managing company financial accounts and reporting, identifying areas for improvement. Identifying and coordinating grant and public funding applications.
- Sales strategy and marketing: You work on our go-to-market strategy, identify and help us win partners and customers. You analyze current market trends and keep an eye on our competitors.
- Grow our team and culture: Developing and implementing policies related to e.g. recruitment, onboarding, work processes. You foster the team spirit by coordinating team and company events.
- Represent Veli: You support the founders in communicating the company’s vision to internal and external stakeholders, e.g. on LinkedIn or events.
Your Profile:
- Passion for entrepreneurship and a hunger to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment. A proactive, can-do mindset with a strong sense of curiosity.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Strong analytical thinking, quick learner and comfortable working with numbers.
- Exceptional communication skills in German and English, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Bonus: Already experienced in working in a fast-paced environment, creating business models and financial forecasts.
- Valid working permit, minimum 50% availability.

Software Engineer Frontend / Fullstack (Intern / Student / Thesis) (m/f/x) – Kassel or Munich

Your Role:
As Software Engineer Frontend / Fullstack, you will shape the way our customers interact with our product. This is a high impact role, and you will work closely with our CPO and CTO on developing the user interface which our customers and colleagues use.
- Design and develop new frontend and backend features of our customer app based on user requirements and our roadmap
- Focus on the user experience and on providing value to our customers
- Design frontend prototypes to iterate in user testing
- Integrate interfaces to our internal backend components, such as monitoring or user notification
Your Profile:
- You have profound knowledge of Python and know how to develop and deploy using git and CI
- You are familiar with frontend frameworks such as React, with HTML, CSS and JavaScript, and/or with backend frameworks such as Django
- You are a curious problem solver with strong analytical skills

IoT Backend Engineer (Intern / Student / Thesis) (m/f/x) – Kassel or Munich

As IoT Backend Engineer, you will shape our cloud and its components. This is a high impact role, and you will work closely with our CTO on the most exciting technical challenges of our IoT system.
- Design and develop new components within our Azure cloud, e.g., for our monitoring systems, edge computing, data processing and the interface to our customers and partners
- Optimize our cluster and architecture to enable a successful scaling to many thousands of users
- Develop fundamental components and APIs that serve other parts of our system and customers
- Ensure reliability, scalability, and security of the components you develop
- Take ownership and be responsible for testing, deployment, and monitoring of your code
Your Profile:
- You have profound knowledge of Python and know how to develop and deploy using git and CI
- You are familiar with Linux systems and cloud platforms, such as Azure

Data Scientist / Machine Learning Engineer (Intern / Student / Thesis) (m/f/x) – Kassel or Munich

Your Role:
As Data Scientist, you will shape the core of Veli: our AI. This is a high impact role, and you will work closely with our CTO and CPO on ambitious topics in data processing, analysis of power consumption data (NILM) and Machine Learning.
- Design and develop new algorithms which provide additional value to our customers
- Evaluate the latest methods for non-intrusive load monitoring (NILM), pattern recognition, and probabilistic reasoning
- Develop new ways of validating the algorithms by integrating direct feedback from customers
- Test your algorithms in our lab and with real-world data of our customers
- Take ownership and be responsible for testing, deployment, and monitoring of your code
Your Profile:
- You have profound knowledge of Python and know how to develop and deploy using git and CI
- You have knowledge and first experience in data analytics / machine learning, preferably with time series data and unsupervised learning
- You are a curious problem solver with strong analytical skills and a creative mindset
- You have an independent, structured, and proactive approach to work
- You have strong communication skills in English or German

While we love to work together in our office, we offer the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere you want. Our main office is located at the Science Park Kassel. Recently we extended our team towards Munich connecting to its large startup ecosystem.
